Following a seemingly endless summer that stretched into fall, the author decided to prioritize quality time with loved ones during winter. From entertaining getaways to Chelan, LA and Sunriver to cherished moments in the neighborhood, these experiences helped brighten the dark season. Each photo was captured using a new “walk-around” camera—a small mirrorless with a compact 24mm lens. As technology has advanced and perspective has grown, the photographer developed a newfound appreciation for the “street photographer” approach.
