A Day in Taipei
A 36-hour layover that turned into one of my favorite shoots of the year.
Taipei was a bit of a mystery to me beyond its 20th-century political history. With just one day to explore the city, I hired a local guide to pack as much culture and discovery as possible into eight hours. We wandered through bustling street markets, admired intricate temples, explored historic districts, and even made it to the top of Taipei 101. The day let me experience Taipei, but I learned there’s an entire island the size of Maryland that I want to explore.
