Project Selfie

I created Project Selfie to explore current social norms and the trend to document ourselves without thinking too much about the landscapes around us. On my travels, I would notice tourists spending their time photographing themselves rather than the vista around them. With smartphones always on hand, we tend to lose ourselves on the screen and often forget to appreciate our surroundings. If you know me, you know I love using my photography to create images of the world as I imagine it, often in a hyper-realistic way. This is exactly what I did for Project Selfie. Using landscape images I have shot on my travels and combining them with studio portraits, I was able to mimic these real-life moments I kept running into.
